Lawrence Hennessy's production "Headshots" consists of eight solo theater pieces. In each of these one-act plays we come face to face with characters who are either serving or being served with what could loosely be called, "Affairs of the Head." From the burnt out shrink who sees 300 people a week, to the eighty-seven year old man adjusting to the unexpected effects that Cialis is having on his social life, "Headshots" delivers humorous, heartbreaking, and occasionally horrifying vignettes of twenty-first century life that comes straight from the head.
"Weekend Writers Group" is a collection of playwrights, actors and directors, (or people who are all three) who come together in the spirit of collaboration, cooperation and non-competitive efforts to impress, support and provoke each other. All of this before returning to their day jobs on Monday. With get-togethers loosely every three weeks at the Actors Studio in Newburyport, MA, their crowning achievement each year is an evening of theater known as "Collaboration" which showcases some of Newburyport's best new plays from the past year.
